Join us for the first Canadian Mental Health Innovation Imaginarium
What is mental health innovation? How do you innovate for mental health? The first Canadian Mental Health Innovation (CMHI) Imaginarium- co-hosted by The Global MINDS Collective and MINDS of London-Middlesex – is set up to help us explore these very questions. At this time, there is no agreed upon Canadian definition on what mental health innovation is, nor are there standards for principles, processes, or practices on how to do mental health innovation ethically and comprehensively. Hence, it became clear that a dialogue to advance ‘what is’ and ‘how to do’ Canadian mental health innovation is much needed.
To address this gap, the Global MINDS Collective is introducing the 2023 Inaugural Canadian Mental Health Innovation (CMHI) Imaginarium. This builds on the successful 2022 Inaugural Global Mental Health Innovation Imaginarium (chaired by the Global MINDS Collective and co-chaired by the MHPSS Collaborative), which brought over 80+ participants across 15 countries to (re)imagine and (re)define mental health innovation in local, development, and humanitarian settings.

This Imaginarium was initiated with the intent to address the growing burden of mental ill-health and the strengthened calls-to-action for mental health innovation, which have been made internationally and in Canada. We are excited to hear your thoughts on (re)imagining and (re)defining Canadian mental health innovation at this Imaginarium. Take a quick look at our concept note for more information about the goal and objectives of the CMHI Imaginarium. Please note that objectives will continue to evolve based on your input through this survey.
The CMHI Imaginarium will occur virtually and welcomes the Canadian community to harness a collective capacity to deeply listen, connect, and begin to establish a strong foundation for collaboration and change. Participants are also encouraged to share their initiatives, campaigns, or new publications for peer learning.
